East San Fernando Valley (ESFV) Light Rail Transit Project

Overview

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (Metro) plan for better transit includes further advancement of rail service in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. With construction of the Initial Operating Segment extending 6.7 miles in the center of Van Nuys Boulevard from the Metro G Line (Orange Line) to San Fernando Road, this segment is entirely at-grade and includes 11 new stations and a new Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF) that will need to be a stand-alone and fully functional facility to maintain the fleet of more than 70 planned LRT vehicles.
