$1.75B LA Metro Crenshaw-LAX Transit Corridor

The K Line is a part of Metro's initiative to enhance transit in the South Bay Cities and Westside Cities regions, with a focus on operations and maintenance. This project aims to improve transportation options and increase access to opportunities in the areas it serves. The K Line will connect the Crenshaw Corridor, Inglewood, and El Segundo, starting from the Expo/Crenshaw Station on the E Line and merging with the C Line at the Aviation/LAX Station.

Enhancing Transit

The K Line currently has seven stations, including Expo/Crenshaw, Martin Luther King Jr., Leimert Park, Hyde Park, Fairview Heights, Downtown Inglewood, and Westchester/Veterans. Two additional stations, Aviation/Century and LAX/Metro Transit Center, are under construction and scheduled to open in 2023 and 2024, respectively. In late 2024, the Airport Metro Connector (AMC) will provide a direct connection to LAX at Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street, and the station will be renamed the LAX/Metro Transit Center.

While major construction for the K Line has been completed, minor work to support rail line operations is ongoing and expected to finish in 2024. This work will not affect full line operations.
