$100M NAVFAC SW Verizon Small Cells Project

The Midfield Satellite Concourse project marks a significant step towards achieving the Los Angeles International Airport's goal of delivering a world-class travel experience for passengers. The new five-level concourse, covering 1.7 million square feet of space, includes 15 gates with 12 gates specifically designed for wide-body aircraft, such as the A380.

World Class Travel Experience

The project serves a dual purpose, providing a domestic concourse linked to the entire central terminal area, as well as an international expansion of the Tom Bradley International Terminal in the future. The project comprises three key components: the Gateway Project, an extension of the Bradley West Terminal; two underground tunnels that connect passengers, utilities, and baggage systems from the Bradley West Terminal to the MSC; and the MSC itself.

The first phase of the MSC involves a total area of 85,000 square feet, which includes 45,000 square feet dedicated to concessions and 40,000 square feet dedicated to airline clubs. Domestic travelers will access the MSC via the eight domestic terminals within the central terminal area. In contrast, international passengers will arrive via an underground tunnel from the Bradley West International Terminal. The project also involves the creation of associated aircraft parking aprons, taxiways/taxi-lanes, and utilities, to enhance the airport's overall capacity and efficiency.
